Presbyopia

Presbyopia: It is a condition characterized by the gradual and progressive difficulty to see objects at short distance due to the eye's deficient accommodation capacity. Such deficiency begins when the person is 40/45 years old and becomes stable when the person is about 60 years old. There are multiple therapeutic methods according to the requirements and the daily routine of every patient, for example, monofocal, bifocal and multifocal lenses; the implantation of multifocal intraocular lenses or the topical local treatment (Benozzi method).
